So, im Pimax Forum hat einer (der allerdings auch eher Pimax-kritisch ist) seine G2 bekommen: "Ok here they are: first impression when I put the headset on is that the comfort is REALLY great and that there’s no light leak AT ALL! Which surprised me because I’ve never experienced a headset without light leak. However it soon turned out that I can not use the standard foam. Like others described, it kills the FoV. So I will need to do some mod like @dmel642 did. Also the headset really is not made for tall people like me. First of all the IPD is too low, which I already knew of course, I have 69.5, while this thing goes to 68.5. I used it for 30 minutes now but could already notice some eye strain. So probably will end up doing some mod here too, I just need to move the lenses 0.5 mm outside each haha. And the speakers seem to be too high above my ears, it seems the plastic is just a bit shorter than the index, although I’d have to compare if that’s even true, but it does feel like that. But then, the image quality … WOOOOAAAH. Before trying this thing I really didn’t know what to expect. People like @mixedrealityTV raved so hard about the headset but others like @dmel642 said it was only gradually better in the image department than the 8k-X. But now I can definitely say I 100% agree with @mixedrealityTV. This quality is just the bomb, it blows the 8k-X out of the water, it’s no comparison in my opinion. Sure the 8k-X is sharp but it’s also dull and there’s something off about the optics for sure and it never made me feel like I’m really in that virtual world. None of that with the G2! It’s just by far the most beautiful VR picture quality I’ve ever seen. It’s really like an Index but then with better resolution and better colors. It’s really all I had ever hoped for in VR picture quality. I wouldn’t mind if we’d be stuck at this level for the next few years, although I would want more FoV. About that … with the foam the FoV for me is BAD. Without the foam it’s actually pretty close to the index. So next thing for me is to do that mod, but man, I’m really short on time these days … I’m sure I’ll miss the 8k-X FoV but I’d be happy to trade that in for this picture quality upgrade. Klingt ja gut Bin trotzdem der Meinung, dass rein vom Schärfe-Level her und mit genügend Einstellerei die 8KX dem sehr nahe kommen müsste. Aber die Klarheit, Farben und Comfort scheinen wirklich zu begeistern (hört man auch in jedem anderen Review raus), da ist man schnell nicht mehr in der Lage, alle anderen Aspekten einigermaßen objektiv zu beurteilen. Schade dass die G2 kein großes FOV (mind. Index Niveau) bekommen hat, dann wäre das im Vergleich zu den frühen 2016er HMD durchaus als VR2.0 zu bezeichnen, finde ich
Hört sich gut an und wegen dem kleineren Sichtfeld bin ich ganz froh das ich nur den Vergleich zur O+ habe da ist der Unterschied nicht ganz so heftig.

Naja, also wenn es stimmt das man durch ändern des VR Covers fast an Index Niveau kommt. Sollte es mit diesem "Hack" sogar besser als bei der Odyssey werden. Also bei mir (am 09.07. Bei Bestware bestellt) steht immer noch "wird ausgeführt". SolKutTeR: Beiträge zusammengefügt
Na herzlichen Glückwunsch wie heißt es so schön die letzten werden die ersten sein und wir alle wissen nun die G2 ist im Deutschen Auslieferung-Lager angekommen das ging wohl schnell beim Zoll
Da bin ich mal gespannt... eigentlich hätte ich gern noch mehr Aber wenn es wenigsten auf O+ Niveau liegt, wäre das schon toll. Will mich nich wieder an ein kleineres FOV gewöhnen müssen Also das klingt natürlich sehr interessant, aber kann das nicht so richtig glauben. Also Dir glaube ich's, aber nicht was HP Dir mitteilt. Nach unserem Kenntnisstand treffen die allerersten G2's erst im Laufe dieser Woche von Asien aus bei uns hier ein. Der Verteilungsprozess auf Einzelhändler + eigener Abwicklungsprozess kommt noch oben drauf. Na da bin ich ebenfalls mal gespannt Wäre ich mir nicht so sicher Ich denke Bestware würde uns sofort das Eintreffen der Paletten mitteilen
Okaaaay... ich schau gar nicht erst nach, war ja monate-lang komplett sinnfrei, dort auf belastbare Infos zu hoffen. Aber wenn's wirklich so läuft, dass heute bestellt, morgen geliefert abgeht während wir Anfang Juli Vorbesteller darauf hoffen, sie vielleicht nächste Woche zu erhalten, dann ist mir jetzt klar, warum HP vorsorglich die 50,- locker macht. Nicht wegen der ganzen Saga bis jetzt, sondern wegen des Shitstorms, der aufgrund solcher Nachrichten noch kommen wird ! Also nehme ich die 50,- Schmerzensgeld mal als solches an, und hoffe, dass sie wenigstens nächste Woche kommt. Bin ja jetzt, wo die 8KX endlich bei mir mal ihr Können gezeigt hat, sehr gespannt, wie ich das Bild der G2 im Vergleich empfinde, und wie es so im Gesamtfazit dann ausgeht !
