[Wireless VR Kit] TPCast / Plus+ / Air

TP Cast braucht noch immer die Netzwerkanbindung oder funktioniert das mittlerweile autark?

 

… du meinst den Router? Soweit ich weiß gab es Versuche, aber "offiziell" für OpenTPCast habe ich noch nichts gefunden.

Die Pro Version von TPCast - sollte eigentlich schon erhältlich sein (ist es aber nicht) - wollte auch darauf verzichten.

 

TPCast verschiedene Versionen?
Ich hatte TPCast bereits vor einem halben Jahr für die Vive (da ich auf die Pro umgestiegen bin, habe ich sie wieder verkauft). Jetzt habe ich sie mir nochmal für die Oculus geholt.
Jetzt meine Frage: Die Vive-Version "spuckte" einen hochfrequenten Ton aus (die Empfänger"box"). Die Oculus-Version nicht mehr. Haben die was verändert?
(mir ist auch aufgefallen, dass in der Oculus Version die Platine im Sender aus zwei Teilen besteht, in der Vive-Version war es nur ein).

Also, was ist dann der Unterschied, bzw. warum dieser hochfrequente Ton?

 

Vielleicht bekommen sie ihre Altbestände nicht los. Habe meines für die Oculus bei Alternate für 230 gekauft (BWare) was ok.
Aber auch neu inzwischen teilweise unter 300 Euro.

wie lang hält da akku beim tpcast. wie lang kann ne session dauern?

 

4 bis 5 Stunden. Zweite Power Bank kostet ca. 40 Euro (Anker).

 

jetzt geht es musst den Wifi Modus auf 11vht AC/AN ändern (von 11a only) und den Kanal auf 46. Das hat jetzt ein paar Tage gedauert. Der Witz ist ja, um wireless zu spielen musste ich erstmal 6 Meter HDMI Kabel und 2x 5 Meter Strom Kabel verlegen

 

Upgrade your TPCAST wireless adapter for Oculus Rift to support microphone function
Hello,
for all power users and geeks that would like to use their microphone with Oculus Rift headset find below a description how to install it.
If you want to use your microphone for your Oculus Rift headsets there is a way to enable your TPCAST wireless adapter to support microphone function. This patch needs to work with a specific Connection Assistant software designed for microphone support. Users take their own risk for possible hardware or software failure for wrong operations but

To enable microphone function, you need to open your TPCAST power box to remove and flash the SD Card with a new Mic supporting firmware. We recommend saving a backup of the old image file from the current SD Card to be able to restore the device to factory settings or use a new SD Card instead. For best performance format the current or new SD Card with SD_CARD Formatter tool.

Following tools are needed: PC, Screwdriver, Card reader (optional SD Card)

Please download following software to enable your TPCAST wireless adapter to support microphone function.

Backup / flashing tools：Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe

Mic supporting firmware compressed package: tpcast_mic_Oculus.zip

Mic supporting connection assistant：TPCAST Oculus Setup_mic.exe

SD format tool: SD_CardFormatter0500SetupEN.exe

Extract the tpcast_mic_Oculus.zip file to the current folder by compression software (such as Winzip, Winrar, Bandizip, 7zip, etc.)

1.Open the battery box and take out the SD card.
Remove battery and open the chassis of the battery box by unscrew the 4 screws

2. Backup old image file from the current SD card (or use new SD card)
a) First install the software tool: Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install.exe. Double-click the downloaded Win32DiskImager-0.9.5-install icon to open installation interface
b) When installed right click on Win32DiskImager icon at the desktop and select “Run as administrator”
c) Insert SD card into the card reader, then connect the card reader with the computer
d) If notification “You need to format the disk in drive H before you can use it” pops up, click “X” to close the current notification
e) Choose a directory (such as E:/tpcastimg/) and file name (such as tpcast.img, file suffix must be .img), then click the “Read” button
f) Right after you have clicked the button “Read”, the image saved on the SD card has been successfully backed up to the directory in step 3 (E:/tpcastimg/tpcast.img)

3. Format the current SD Card (we recommend to format the existing SD card as well as a new SD Card if used)
a) Install software tool SD_CardFormatter0500SetupEN.exe
b) Double click on the downloaded file SD_CardFormatter0500SetupEN.exe
c) When installation is finished double click on the icon of “SD Card Formatter” on your desktop and open SD Card Formater
d) Select the driver of the card reader and choose “Quick format” below “Formatting options” and click “Format”
e) Notification will pop up that Formatting was successfully completed
f) Select the driver of the inserted card reader then select “Overwrite format” and click “Format” button
g) Notification will pop up that Formatting was successfully completed

4. Flash the new image to the current SD card
a) Connect the SD Card with your computer
b) Start Win32 DiskImageer
c) Select the correct drive for your SD Card from the device drop down list
d) Select the downloaded compressed file (click the folder icon) “tpcast_mic_Oculus.img” and click the “Write” button
e) Right after you have clicked the button “Write” a pop up appears “Write Successful”, flashing completed

5. Install the SD card and new connection assistant software
a) Insert the current SD Card into the original position of the power box and install power box
b) Uninstall old connection assistant, restart computer and install new version of the connection assistant “TPCAST Oculus Setup_mic.exe”. Follow the normal procedure to connect the wireless adapter, verify microphone and confirm, then assemble the screws.

6. If the power box is not properly used after flashing
a) Take out the SD card and try to re-flash “tpcast_mic_Oculus.img” file according to above steps.
b). If re-flashing still fails, the SD card can be restored with old image through the tool. Please uninstall Connection Assistant with microphone function, then restart the computer. Install the old version of Connection Assistant. The steps of restoring SD card are as following:

Step 1：Select the correct device from the device drop down list
Step 2: Select the expected backup “tpcast.img” file and click the “Write”, as shown in the figure:
Step 3: Right after you have clicked the button “Write” a pop up appears “Write Successful” flashing completed, and SD card has been restored

If you follow these procedures your TPCAST wireless adapter for Oculus Rift will support microphone function. In case there are any problems during installation please contact our TPCAST support team.
